The Tanzania Information Minister Jerry Silaa confirmed the move, stating that X’s updated content policies permit explicit sexual material, which contradicts Tanzanian legislation and values. This isn’t the first time X has faced restrictions in Tanzania, in May 2025, the government blocked the platform following cyberattacks on several official accounts, including the police and Airtel Tanzania. Hackers posted pornographic images and falsely announced the death of President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Authorities labelled the incident a minor breach and assured citizens that cyberspace remains secure, while investigations to identify the perpetrators are ongoing. MZUZU POLICE C.CA.P OPENS IT'S CHURCH

Mzuzu Police C.C.AP which operates under the synod of Livingstonia has officially opened it's church.  The church was opened on Sunday last week. During the opening ceremony the clergy ordained Evangelist Daniel Chimpukutu to become the church's chaplain.  The church was built at a cost of over K40 million and has a membership of 360 christians. Among those who were present at the ceremony were the guest of honor, The  Commissioner of Police Richard Luhanga, Livingstonia synod’s moderator, Reverend Jailos Kamisa, moderator elect, Reverend Wisdom Mwale, general secretary, Reverend William Tembo, deputy general secretary Reverend Isaiah Mhone and police chaplain from police headquarters, Senior Superitendent Reverend Julius Siwinda.  By Jonathan Phiri

MUTHARIKA ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENTS

President Peter Mutharika has announced key appointments, effective immediately, to bolster governance and service delivery. Frank Mbeta is the new Attorney General, while Gertrude Shuwa SC takes on the role of Solicitor General.  Festino Maele has been appointed Director of Public Prosecutions, and Cathy Maulidi will serve as Press Secretary. Henry Mukhuna will advise on Manifesto Implementation, and Apostle Timothy Khoviwa has been named Advisor on Religious Affairs. The President’s Office stated these appointments aim to enhance government efficiency and performance.
